Welcome to Dropit. These Terms are the agreement between you and PataProducts for using our website and service (the "Service"). By using Dropit, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
1. What Dropit is (and isn't)
Dropit is a file-delivery checkout: you upload work, attach an invoice and your payment details, and your recipient's downloads unlock when you confirm they've paid. Dropit is not a payment processor, escrow service, or bank — money moves directly between you and your client through the channels you choose, and we never hold it. Confirming or disputing a payment is your action and your judgement.
2. Your account
You sign in with Google; you're responsible for activity under your account. A transfer link is addressed to a specific recipient email — only that account can open it. Please keep your account secure and let us know if you think someone else is using it.
3. Your files and content
Your files stay yours. By uploading, you give us the limited permission we need to store and deliver them to the recipient you chose. Don't use Dropit for content that is unlawful, infringing, or harmful — we may remove content and suspend accounts that break these Terms.
4. Plans, custody and expiry
On the free plan, each transfer is limited in size, you can have a limited number of active transfers, and we hold each transfer for 7 days before it expires into your Trash (restorable for 7 more days, then permanently removed). Expiry runs on its own clock whether or not an invoice was paid. On Premium, transfers are held until you delete them, limits are lifted, and payment reminders are automated. Current limits and prices are shown in the app and on the Pricing page.
5. Subscriptions
Premium is a paid subscription, billed monthly or annually through our payment processor under their terms. If your subscription lapses, your account returns to the free plan and free custody rules apply to your transfers from then on — including the 7-day hold. Except where the law requires otherwise, subscription payments are non-refundable.
6. Payments between you and your client
Invoices, payment details, proof-of-payment submissions and confirmations are records you and your client create. We don't verify that a payment actually happened — that's what your confirm/dispute decision is for — and we're not a party to the transaction or responsible for its completion, quality, or refunds between you and your client.
7. Playing fair
- Don't misuse or disrupt the Service, or try to access transfers addressed to someone else.
- Don't upload malware or content you don't have the right to share.
- Don't use the Service for anything unlawful or harmful.
8. What belongs to us
The Service — its software, design, branding, and the "Dropit" name — belongs to PataProducts or its licensors and is protected by law. Aside from the limited use we grant you here, no rights are transferred to you.
9. No guarantees ("as is")
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We can't promise the Service will always be available, error-free, or secure, and you should keep your own copies of important files.
10. Our liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, PataProducts won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, loss of files after their disclosed expiry, or disputes between you and your client, arising from your use of the Service.
11. Leaving Dropit
You can stop using Dropit whenever you like and ask us to delete your account and data. We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms or if we stop offering the Service — where reasonable, we'll give you a chance to retrieve your files first.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Kenya, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any disputes fall under the jurisdiction of the courts of Kenya.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms now and then. If you keep using the Service after changes take effect, that means you accept the updated Terms. These Terms were written in English, and the English version governs.
